Leftovers

Today I had the honor of teaching my downline's monthly Stamp Club. We made Mother's Day gift sets for the upcoming holiday. One thing that always seems to get the better of me is leftovers. You know....as you prepare for a class you cut your materials, etc. and, if you are like me, cut extra "just in case" something goes wrong...and then at the end there is usually a few pre-made items left over. Well today I had left over stamped tissue paper that we had used for our candles (I had pre-stamped the images to save time). I decided that I must put them to good use now instead of storing them for a later purpose---which I would normally have done!

I recently saw a technique called faux silk on Linda's blog and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try it out. Here is what I made...

The stamped images are the leftover tissue paper from today's class. Using the same color palette, I worked two totally different cards from the images. Not bad for a bunch of leftovers, I'd say!

Green Card:
Paper- Wild Wasabi; Afternoon Tea DSP; Whisper White
Ink- Wild Wasabi; Groovy Guava; Chocolate Chip; Soft Sky
Stamps- Live Your Dream; Baroque wheel
Accessories- Love & Happiness rub-ons; Brown stitched ribbon, tissue paper; corner rounder

Guava Card:
Paper- Groovy Guava Textured card stock & DSP; Soft Sky; Whisper White
Ink- Groovy Guava; Soft Sky; Wild Wasabi; Chocolate Chip
Stamps- Live Your Dream; Baroque wheel; All Holidays
Accessories- Paper piercing tool & template; Tissue paper; Black Pen; Black brads; Large Oval Punch; Key Tag punch; corner rounder

I hope this inspires you to create something with your leftovers!!

Hugs,
